Job summary

LifeNet Health in Virginia Beach is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support production operations from 1:45 PM to 10:30 PM, Monday through Friday. You will inspect, decontaminate, package and sterilize instrumentation while following SOPs and safety policies to ensure donor gifts become lifesaving allografts.

Role requires sitting/standing and lifting up to 50 lbs, with PPE provided. CRCST certification or equivalent is preferred, and prior sterile processing experience is valued.

Qualifications

• CRCST certification or equivalent preferred
• One year work experience in a sterile processing environment or inspection role
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and wear PPE as required
• Must be 18 years or older
• High School or GED required

Responsibilities

• Accurately inspects, prepares and packages all instrumentation and equipment for sterilization.
• Decontaminates all instrumentation and equipment effectively ensuring adherence to quality standards.
• Stocks case carts to ensure all items are accounted for and available for processing and/or other departments as assigned. Processes and completes associated case cart documentation.
• Sterilizes all equipment ensuring the appropriate sterilization method is used and respective SOP followed. Operates Steam and EO sterilizers and accurately completes associated documentation.
• Participate in department continuous improvement initiatives, as assigned by management.
