Job summary

SCA Health in Orange, CA is seeking a Sterile Processing Clerk (Instrument Processing Technician) to maintain instruments and equipment for the surgical team and prepare sterile supplies for procedures.

Under supervision, you will ensure proper sterilization, high-level disinfection and aseptic technique, with a focus on instrument handling. Requires a high school diploma and BCLS within 90 days; prior processing experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• Knowledge of sterilization and high-level disinfection principles is required.
• Prior instrument processing experience is preferred.
• BCLS certification within 90 days of employment or current BCLS on file is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain instruments and equipment and prepare sterile supplies for the surgical patient.
• Follow sterilization procedures and aseptic technique.
• Clean, wrap, sterilize, and disinfect instruments and equipment; maintain the instrument processing area.
• Assist with inventory management and purchasing supplies as directed.
