Job summary

Advocate Health in Charlotte, NC seeks a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, prep and packing, sterilization, and storage. You will ensure instrument readiness for patient care and maintain safety standards in a fast-paced environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and CSPDT or CRCST certification within 2 years of hire, with responsibilities including operating sterilization equipment and documenting cycles.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• CSPDT or CRCST certification is required within 2 years of hire.

Responsibilities

• Adheres to safety standards.
• Identifies manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to the manufacturer's IFU for all general instrumentation.
• Determines, prepares, and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
• Identifies, inspects, assembles general instruments, checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets.
• Packages and labels instrumentation.
• Safely operates sterilization equipment and perform verification and documentation of sterilization process.
• Performs high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.
