Job summary

Resolution Think LLC is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to work on-site at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, HI. The role requires certification in sterile processing or a formal SPS training program and at least three years of SPD experience.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, assemble and sterilize surgical instruments across specialties (general, robotics, neurosurgery, plastics, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, OB/GYN, OMFS, vascular, ortho).
  • Prepare instrumentation for surgery and manage sterile supplies with appropriate sterilization methods.
  • Track instruments using computer-based logs and keep records for all sterilization steps.

Sterile Processing Technician job at Resolution Think. Honolulu, HI. We are seeking four highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technicians to work on-site at Tripler Army Medical Center.

Location: Tripler Army Medical Center

Duty Hours:Hours of performance may include shift work.

Normal duty hours may include rotating 8, 10, 12-hour and part-time shifts,including nights, weekends and federal holidays

Job Responsibilities
  • Instrument decontamination, assembly and sterilization of the following surgical specialties: general surgery, robotics, neurosurgery, plastic surgery, urology, ophthalmology, ENT, OB/GYN, OMFS, vascular and orthopedic surgery.
  • Prepare instrumentation and supplies for surgery as necessary, including use of various methods of sterilization.
  • Monitors and tracks surgical instruments using computer automated instrument tracking log/system, performs record keeping for all sterilization processes.
  • Checks expiration dates on all sterile supply items, removes outdated items, and rotates the stock on a “first in, first out” basis.
  • Maintains and restocks Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) cart exchange program including transportation of CPR carts in emergency situations and maintaining supplies and documentation.
  • Assembles and disassembles instrumentation and equipment per manufacturer’s instructions for use (MIFU).
  • Perform daily and weekly cleanings and function testing on all equipment.
  • Participate in the Orientation and Training of 68D Students, new employees, medical interns, nursing students, residents, and other medical training program provided by Tripler Army Medical center.
  • Assist with oversight of the 68D students as needed. The contractors may be assigned to assist in the orientation of staff members and/or training of 68D students.
  • Daily assignments may include orientation or training of students and new personnel.
  • Assist in training staff members and 68D in the operation of sterile processing equipment, handling and assembling instruments and sets, procedures for decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of equipment and instruments.
  • Carry a paging and/or other electronic communication devices used by the operating room personnel.
Minimum Requirements
  • Degree/Education: Certificate. Completion of a sterile processing/supply trainingcourse. Current certification by the International Association of Healthcare CentralServices Materials Management or current certification by the National Institute ofHealth Care Sterile Processing and Distribution Personnel.
  • Experience: Sterile Processing Technician-Must have a minimum of three (3)continuous years of recent (one year of which must have occurred within the lastyear) experience working as sterile processing technician in an SPD setting. Musthave diverse sterile processing experiences to include instrumentdecontamination, assembly and preparation, and sterilization. Ability to operateand troubleshoot all processing equipment to include washer-disinfectors,sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, and automatic endoscope reprocessors.
    • Knowledgeable in following surgical instrument specialties: general surgery,urology, robotics, plastic surgery, neurosurgery, eye surgery, ENT, GYN,vascular and orthopedic surgery.
  • Certifications: BLS

  • Must pass TB Test
  • Subject to a background/security investigation and pre-employment drug screening
  • Willingness to comply with DHA vaccination requirements.
  • Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen per contract requirements
