Job summary

Ascension in Waco, TX is seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician for full-time night shift, 10:30PM-7:00AM, Monday-Friday. Training is provided Monday-Thursday, 10:00AM-8:30PM for 3 months at Ascension Providence.

Responsibilities include sterilizing instruments, maintaining counts, and supporting the surgical pipeline. Related healthcare experience and CST credentials are preferred.

Qualifications

• Licensure/certification as Central Service Technician preferred (HSPA).
• Licensure/certification as Central Service Technician preferred (CBSPD).
• High School diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience required.
• Required licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.

Responsibilities

• Guarantee surgical safety by decontaminating and sterilizing instruments to meet infection prevention standards.
• Inspect, assemble, and test instrument sets to ensure surgeons have functioning tools.
• Use tracking systems to maintain 100% accuracy in instrument counts and prevent delays in the OR.
• Proactively manage inventory and equipment levels to support life-saving procedures.

What Minimum Requirements You’ll Need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association preferred.
• Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) preferred.

Education

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
