Job summary

Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician for a travel assignment in New Hyde Park, NY. You will decontaminate, assemble linen packs, and operate sterilizers such as steam and ETO while supporting daily unit operations.

The role requires a high school diploma and any applicable state certifications. If contracted, CPR and health documentation may be required; travel provides weekly pay and full-time hours.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• State regulations or contract specs may require certification.
• IAHCSMM or CBSPD certification may be required by contract.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate instruments and equipment.
• Assemble linen packs for sterilization.
• Operate steam, ETO and other sterilizers.
• Maintain inventory for instrument sets and supplies.
• Provide customer service and support daily operations.

Location: New Hyde Park, NY

The Sterile Processing Technician is responsible fordecontamination, assembly of linen packs, operation of steam, ETO and otherforms of sterilization. The Sterile Processing Technician maintains adequateinventory for assembly of instruments and equipment and performs multiple tasksthat assist in the daily operation of all units as well as being responsiblefor customer service.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent?

• Certification as required by state regulations or contractspecifications?

• Certification for sterile processing technicians by theInternational Association of Healthcare Central Service Materiel Management(IAHCSMM) or the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution(CBSPD) may be required

• One (1) year of experience in sterile processing preferred?

• Current CPR if applicable

• TB Questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable

• Current Health certificate (per contract or stateregulation)

• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
