LewisGale Medical Center in Salem, VA is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to ensure instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for surgery. You will support safe, high-quality care by maintaining strict safety standards and collaborating with the surgical team.

The role requires knowledge of sterile processing, hospital equipment, and instrumentation, with CRCST/CSPDT certification due within 18 months and BLS current or within 60 days of hire.

Qualifikationen

• Minimum 1 year experience in Central Sterile Supply preferred, including instrument ID and tray prep for OR use.
• CRCST or CSPDT certification due within 18 months of hire.
• Knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, surgical instrumentation and medical terminology.
• Ability to respond appropriately to emergency supply requests.
• BLS current or within 60 days of hire.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• Minimum of 1 year experience in Central Sterile Supply department is preferred to include: Proper identification of instruments and preparation of trays for Operating Room use
• Sterile Processing Certification required (CRCST or CSPDT) within 18 months of employment.
• Must have knowledge of hospital equipment, supplies, surgical instrumentation, and medical terminology.
• Must be able to appropriately and effectively react to requests for emergency supplies.
• BLS current or within 60 days of hire
