Job summary

The Advanced Center for Surgery in Florida is hiring a Per Diem Sterile Processing Technician to support our busy ambulatory surgery center. You will care for and maintain all surgical instrumentation and prepare instrument trays for procedures, ensuring sterile readiness for OR teams.

Requires certification as a Sterile Processing Technician, with 2–3 years in an instrument room and familiarity with Sterrad and steam/gravity sterilizers. Per diem schedule offered.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician required; experience with OR instrumentation preferred.
• 2–3 years as instrument room tech or equivalent experience in sterile processing.
• Knowledge of steam/gravity and Sterrad sterilizers; ability to prepare reports.

Responsibilities

We are currently searching for a motivated, hardworking Certified Sterile Processing Technician.

Position Responsibilities

• The Sterile Processing Technician cares for and maintains all surgical instrumentation and sets up supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Required Skills

• Must be a Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• 2-3 years experience as Instrument Room Technician.
• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
