Job summary

Lincoln Surgical Hospital is seeking a detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. Schedule: Full-Time, 80 hours per pay period; primarily 1:00 p.m.–9:30 p.m. with occasional 3:00 p.m.–11:30 p.m. shifts.

The role involves decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of instruments and supplies to ensure safe patient care. Strong attention to detail and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Current BLS certification within 60 days of employment.
  • Sterile Processing Certification within two years of hire.
  • Previous experience processing surgical instruments preferred.
  • Knowledge of sterilization methods, instrumentation, and proper handling techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and commitment to patient safety.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, inspect, assemble, package, sterilize, and store surgical instruments and equipment according to established policies and procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention and sterilization standards.
  • Monitor and document sterilization processes accurately.
  • Maintain inventory and proper storage of sterile supplies.
  • Identify and report equipment issues or instrument repair needs.
  • Collaborate with surgical and clinical teams to support procedural needs and maintain workflow efficiency.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of instrumentation, proper care, handling, and sterilization techniques.
