Job summary

Providence Covenant Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to support decontamination, assembly and testing of medical instruments under supervision. This is the first level of a three-level series, designed for candidates in training for Technician II duties.

Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Vocational training in Sterile Processing.
• Preferred: CRCST certification upon hire (HSPA).
• Preferred: CSPDT certification upon hire (CBSPD).

• Support Sterile Processing tasks and adhere to safety and quality standards.

Description

The Sterile Processing Technician performs routine work in the decontamination, assembly, testing, and instruments in a medical facility, under the supervision of the Supervisor of Sterile Processing.

This is the first level of a three-level series. It is distinguished from the higher levels by the absence of responsibility for performing advanced and complicated sterilization, assembly and testing of medical equipment, supplies and instruments. Employees in this level may be in training to perform Sterile Processing Technician II duties.

Required Qualifications:

• Coursework/Training: Vocational training in Sterile Processing.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association upon hire or
• Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician - Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution upon hire

Posted are the minimum and the maximum wage rates on the wage range for this position. The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors. These amounts are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
