Job summary

Providence Covenant Medical Center in Texas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to perform routine decontamination, assembly and testing of instruments under supervision. Evening shift: Tuesday–Saturday, 1:00 pm–9:30 pm, with a base pay range and potential bonuses.

External candidates may receive a $2,000 hiring bonus and extensive benefits from day one. The role is an entry level in a three-level series, with training toward Sterile Processing Technician II as you gain experience.

• Coursework/Training: Vocational training in Sterile Processing.
• Preferred: HSCPA or CBSPD certification upon hire.

The Sterile Processing Technician performs routine work in the decontamination, assembly, testing, and instruments in a medical facility, under the supervision of the Supervisor of Sterile Processing.

Hours: Tuesday - Saturday from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.

This is the first level of a three-level series. It is distinguished from the higher levels by the absence of responsibility for performing advanced and complicated sterilization, assembly and testing of medical equipment, supplies and instruments. Employees in this level may be in training to perform Sterile Processing Technician II duties.

Required Qualifications

• Coursework/Training: Vocational training in Sterile Processing.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Registered Central Service Technician (HSCPA) upon hire or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician (CBSPD) upon hire

The successful candidate's placement on the wage range for this position will be determined based upon relevant job experience and other applicable factors.
