Job summary

USPI New Mexico Surgery Center - Orthopaedics is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician to join our full-time team. The role focuses on maintaining and preparing all surgical instruments and supplies for upcoming procedures, ensuring sterility and readiness in a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Candidates should have a high school diploma, 1–2 years sterile processing experience, and certification when possible.

Qualifications

• Certified Sterile Processing Technician certification preferred when possible.
• 2-3 years of sterile processing experience.
• Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and sterilizers.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and care for all surgical instruments.
• Prepare supplies and instruments for surgery cases.
• Ensure sterility and readiness of instruments for procedures.

Sterile Processing Tech at USPI New Mexico Surgery Center-Orthopaedics

The Sterile Processing Technician maintains and cares for all surgical instruments. Prepares supplies and instruments for surgery cases.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of 1-2 years of Sterile Processing experience
• Completion of a Sterile Process Certification program is preferred
• Experience with all types of sterilizers
• Knowledge of operating room instrumentation and procedures
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items
• Ability to quickly adapt to changing conditions of the patient when needed

• Experience with all types of sterilizers.
• Knows operating room instrumentation.
• Organized in setting up operating room instrument tray.
• Understands operation of steam/ gravity sterilizer.
• Understands Sterrad sterilizers.
• Ability to prepare reports and keep records.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and departmental supply items is required.
