Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Clear Lake is hiring a Sterile Processing Technician for weekend shifts (Friday–Sunday, 2:00pm–10:30pm). You will clean, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments, monitor cycles, and assist operating teams to ensure smooth, safe surgeries.

No prior experience required; obtain CSPDT or CRCST within 2 years of starting. High school diploma or GED is required. This facility emphasizes patient safety and high-quality care.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate / GED required.
• CSPDT or CRCST certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver safe, high-quality care.
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs.
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized.
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you’ll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your focus on safety and attention to detail helps protect patients and empowers a team that’s committed to the care and improvement of human life – one surgery at a time.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
• Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
• Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
• Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
• Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

• Shift Time 2:00pm to 10:30pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
• High School Graduate / GED
• (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician, or (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
