Job summary

Jefferson Health in Philadelphia is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments for the Operating Room and other departments. The role includes operating washers and sterilizers and using the Abacus Tracking System, with emphasis on accurate tray assembly and communication with staff.

The position requires a high school diploma and certified sterile processing training, CRCST certification, and is scheduled for Friday/Saturday 3 p.m.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program.
• CRCST required; provisional CRCST's not accepted.
• Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, disassemble, sort, decontaminate, reassemble, package and sterilize reusable surgical instrumentation according to manufacturer guidelines and department policy.
• Operate automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers following instructions and policy.
• Use the Abacus Instrument Tracking System in tray assembly and peel pouched items.
• Demonstrate good communication skills with internal and external customers.
