Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals, Inc. is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician in Philadelphia to reprocess surgical instrumentation, ensuring compliance with guidelines and department policy. The role includes cleaning, decontaminating, assembling trays, and maintaining instrument integrity in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires CRCST certification, a high school diploma, and 6 months of experience preferred; weekend evening shifts are typical as part of the schedule.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program.
• CRCST required; provisional CRCST's not accepted.
• Minimum 6 months of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, disassembles, sorts, decontaminates, reassembles, packages and sterilizes reusable surgical instrumentation following manufacturer’s guidelines and departmental policy and procedure.
• Operates automated washers, cart washers, ultrasonic washers, and sterilizers in a safe and efficient manner following manufacturers’ written instructions and department policy and procedure.
• Uses the Abacus Instrument Tracking System in the assembly of surgical trays and peel pouched items.
• Demonstrates good communication skills, verbal and non-verbal, when interacting with internal and external customers.
