Job summary

Fisher-Titus seeks a Central Services/ Sterile Processing Technician to process and distribute medical supplies in accordance with hospital policies. You will decontaminate, assemble, wrap, and sterilize instruments, ensuring proper labeling and storage.

Certification eligibility (IAHCSMM/CBSPD) and a high school diploma are required, with BLS within 90 days. Provides care in a full-time, weekday schedule with a comprehensive benefits package, including tuition assistance and 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of infection control concepts and sterile processing procedures.
• Baseline infection control knowledge and ability to apply it to practice.
• Certification or eligibility for central sterile technician roles.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of infection control concepts and applies them to sterile processing.
• Decontamination area: sort, wash, and inspect items according to heat sensitivity.
• Decontamination area: operate ultrasonic cleaners and washers safely.
• Assemble and package instruments; label contents accurately.
• Determine appropriate sterilization method for reusable items and operate sterilization equipment.
• Record and document Bowie-Dick, chemical integrators and biological tests.
