Qualifications

• Credentialed: Passed a nationally accredited central service exam and holds one of the following credentials: CRCST or CSPDT.
• Hard to Fill Clause: May employ someone not meeting all requirements if qualified candidates are scarce.
• Grand-fathering Clause: Evidence of Central Service Technician experience in a healthcare setting for a period between 1/1/2011 – 1/1/2015 may apply.

Responsibilities

• Processing: provide sterile goods by decontamination, cleaning, packing, sterilizing, storing and distributing to hospital areas.
• Sterilization: ensure correct supplies used; clean soiled equipment, machines, carts and shelves.
• Distribution: transport supplies, medications and equipment throughout the hospital.
