The Veterans Health Administration in Orlando is seeking a Medical Supply Technician (Sterile Processing) to maintain current SOP knowledge and ensure proper cleaning, disinfection, and preparation of reusable medical equipment.

You will perform decontamination, basic instrument assembly, packaging, and inventory control, while following infection prevention practices. Shifts rotate days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays; benefits include paid time off and federal retirement programs.

Competenze

• Note: education or degrees recognized by the U.S. Department of Education from accredited institutions may be used to qualify for federal employment.

Mansioni

• Decontamination of reusable medical equipment (RME) and instruments using manual and automated equipment.
• Assemble simple instrument sets, package, label, and prepare peel packs.
• Inventory, store, and rotate supplies (FIFO) in clean storage areas.
• Operate and monitor cleaning and disinfection equipment; report malfunctions.
• Follow infection prevention and control practices and participate in quality checks.
• Attend in-service training and competency assessments; work under supervision for technical tasks.
• Work schedule includes rotating day, evening, and night shifts, with weekends and holidays.
