Responsibilities

• Receives contaminated RME in the decontamination area and may receive noncritical equipment.
• Disassembles complex RME and determines cleaning methods per manufacturer instructions.
• Assembles instruments and sets for sterilization; selects trays and instruments as required.
• Labels sterilized items per AAMI and VHA Directive 1116(2).
• Performs daily checks on sterilization equipment and supports SPS management.
