Job summary

Texas Orthopedic Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician (PRN) to ensure all surgical instruments are cleaned, sterilized, and ready for procedures. You will work with nurses and surgeons to support safe, efficient surgeries and maintain strict safety standards.

You will monitor cycles, document results, and assemble instrument trays according to the daily schedule. No travel is required; on-site role with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

  • High School Graduate or GED required.
  • CRCST or CSPDT certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and organize surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards.
  • Monitor sterilization cycles, document results, and resolve issues to ensure safe, high-quality care.
  • Prepare and organize instrument trays and surgical rooms based on daily schedule and procedural needs.
  • Safely handle and dispose of biohazardous materials while keeping work area clean and organized.
  • Collaborate with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support efficient surgeries.

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you'll play a critical role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care by making sure every instrument is thoroughly cleaned, sterilized, and ready when needed. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing, and organizing surgical instruments and supplies following safety standards
  • Monitoring sterilization cycles, documenting results, and resolving issues promptly to deliver on our commitment to safe, high-quality care
  • Preparing and organizing instrument trays and surgical rooms based on the daily schedule and procedural needs
  • Safely handling and disposing of biohazardous materials while keeping the work area clean and organized
  • Working closely with nurses and surgeons to anticipate needs and support smooth, efficient surgeries

What qualifications you will need:

  • High School Graduate / GED
  • (CRCST) Certified Registered Central Service Technician, or (CSPDT) Cert Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician must be obtained within 2 years of employment start date
