Job summary

AdventHealth in Rome, Georgia is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support sterilization and decontamination operations. The role involves handling complex sterilization procedures, instrument assembly, and inventory management within a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualifications include CRCST or CSPDT certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and 2+ years in sterile processing or related fields.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control principles.
• Understanding of microbiology and aseptic techniques.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and manage customer needs.
• Experience with computer systems and sterilization equipment recommended.

Responsibilities

• Operate sterilization equipment and ensure parameters meet IFU specifications.
• Rotate through decontamination, tray assembly, sterilization, and supply management.
• Identify and segregate reusable items for decontamination and sterilization.
• Select cleaning methods per manufacturer instructions and inspect for damage.
• Disassemble/inspect instruments and properly document counts in tracking systems.
