You will decontaminate, prep and pack, sterilize, and dispatch instruments efficiently while expanding knowledge of standards and procedures for surgical instrumentation. Qualifications

• One year of related work experience in operating room, acute care hospital or central services preferred.
• Certified and Registered Central Service Technician within 6 months is required or assumed.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Tech within 6 months is required or assumed.
• Cert Sterile Processing Dist Tech within 6 months is required or assumed.
• Certified Sterile Processing and Dist Supervisor within 6 months is required or assumed.

Responsibilities

• Collects, decontaminates, cleans, and tracks reusable equipment per department, manufacturer, and OSHA standards.
• Inspects, disassembles, cleans, and processes reusable instrumentation; uses appropriate cleaning equipment and agents.
• Assembles general and specialty instruments and sets; prepares trays for sterilization per SOPs and case sheets.
• Inspects instruments for proper functioning and sharpness; ensures packaging and wrapping materials meet sterilization standards.
• Ensures broken instruments are repaired and dull instruments are sharpened; produces organized, properly weighted instrument trays for sterilization.
• Sterilizes equipment using steam, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid, ethylene oxide, or glutaraldehyde per manufacturer instructions.
