Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Sterile Processing Specialist to ensure surgical instruments and equipment are clean, sterilized, and ready for use. You’ll join a patient-care team, supporting physicians, nurses and staff with attention to detail and reliability.

The role emphasizes decontamination, tray assembly, and safe operation of department equipment, with weekend/holiday rotations and growth toward CSPDT or CRCST certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 1+ years experience as a Sterile Processing Tech preferred.
• Ability to differentiate instruments, supplies and equipment.
• Certification within 18 months: CSPDT or CRCST.

Responsibilities

• Receive, clean and decontaminate surgical instruments per guidelines.
• Identify, inventory, inspect and assemble instrument trays for departments.
• Provide proper sterilization of prepared items.
• Operate and maintain departmental equipment safely and efficiently.
• Assemble and dispense case carts, supplies and equipment for procedures.
• Set up and dispatch specialty and emergency carts per procedures.
• Maintain a safe, clean work environment and clean scopes as needed.
