Job summary

Banner - University Medical Center Phoenix is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination and sterile processing across PeriOp Services, ED, ICU, and other departments. The role ensures readiness of surgical instrumentation for procedures and requires handling of advanced sterilization processes with minimal supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED or equivalent working knowledge.
• CRCST certification or SPD experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide decontamination and sterile processing support for OR and hospital departments.
• Assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments per protocols.
• Interpret surgical schedules and communicate special needs to minimize delays.
• Differenciate ownership/loaner instruments and track inventory.
• Operate sterilizers, washers, and related equipment per policy.
• Maintain quality assurance and records for instrumentation.

Education
