Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Previous hospital sterile processing experience preferred.
• IAHCSMM certification preferred; current BLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist professional staff in providing care for the operative patient.
• Ensure proper instrumentation and supplies are available on the surgical field and OR.
• Support the sterile operative team and perform routine housekeeping activities.
• Retrieve, clean, and decontaminate instrumentation and equipment; track department-specific equipment.
• Prepare, package, and process items per hospital policies and manufacturer recommendations.
• Participate in quality measures and improvement activities; train newly assigned personnel.
