Job summary

Avera Sacred Heart Hospital is seeking a Sterilization Tech to perform decontamination, assembly and sterilization of medical instruments in accordance with Infection Control and QA guidelines.

You will operate steam, ETO and hydrogen peroxide sterilizers, maintain equipment, and communicate with the care team to ensure patient safety and readiness of supplies. The role requires attention to safety and quality, with on-site duties and varying shifts.

Qualifications

• High School or GED required.
• Ability to perform essential job functions with reasonable accommodations.

Responsibilities

• Performs decontamination, assembly and sterilization of instruments.
• Operates sterilization equipment (steam, ETO, hydrogen peroxide) per QA guidelines.
• Maintains communication with supervisor, managers and co-workers; answers phones as needed.
