Job summary

SGMC Health is seeking a Processing Technician in the Sterile Processing department on the Main Campus. The Full Time Evening Shift (1100-1930) with call involves instrument handling, decontamination, sterilization, and preparing case carts for OR procedures.

You will follow Infection Control policies, support patient safety, and collaborate with OR staff. Requires a high school diploma; CSPT encouraged; one year experience preferred; OR instrument knowledge is helpful.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• CSPT certification encouraged after 12 months of service.
• One year experience preferred in healthcare or sterile processing.
• OR instruments knowledge and handling experience desirable.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instrument handling for OR and central sterilization.
• Decontaminate, process, and sterilize instruments per policy.
• Assemble, maintain and ensure functionality of surgical instruments.
• Prepare case carts and specialty trays for procedures.
• Adhere to infection control, patient safety and unit objectives.
