Job summary

Jefferson Health is seeking a Sterile Process Technician to support operating rooms and allied departments. You will decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instruments, ensuring traceability and quality of every tray and cart.

Responsibilities include maintaining inventory, using automated washers and sterilizers, and adhering to IFUs and infection-control standards while contributing to team goals and patient safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Graduate of certified sterile processing technician training program.
• New hires must obtain Certification within 6 months of hire date.
• Ability to read and communicate in English.
• Knowledge of decontamination and infection control practices.

Responsibilities

• Disassemble, clean, inspect, assemble, sterilize and dispense surgical instruments and trays for OR and nursing units.
• Operate washers and sterilizers following IFUs and department policies.
• Ensure quality indicators pre/post-sterilization and document with Instrument Tracking System.
• Label items with names/expirations and maintain inventory accuracy.
• Assist with equipment rounds and off-shift/holiday call coverage as needed.
• Participate in onboarding of new team members.
