Job description

Sterile Processing Tech – Lead

We are hiring for a Sterile Processing Tech – Lead for the St. Peters Outpatient Surgery Center. As a lead tech, you will be responsible for ensuring all our surgical cases have the correct instrumentation for every case as well as ensuring that same‑day turn‑overs are completed on time. Our ideal candidate will be a Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST).

Location & Schedule

• Address: 100 Entrance Way Saint Peters, MO 63376
• Location: Outpatient Surgery/Endoscopy
• Monday – Friday, no weekends or holidays, 06:00 – 14:30 (Evening Shift)
• Must be Certified

Role Purpose

Assists the supervisor in providing quality, cost‑effective decontamination, sterilization, and distribution services. Trains and directs CSPD staff, problem‑solves equipment failures and functions as a charge person in the absence of the Supervisor.

Responsibilities

• Assembles and processes instrument sets, trays, supplies and linen; prioritizes trays and tasks according to the surgery schedule.
• Utilizes and troubleshoots steam sterilizers.
• Serves as the primary coordinator between surgical services and central supply sterile processing department in assigned clinical service area.
• Provides training and guidance to staff.

Minimum Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• No supervisor experience required
• Cert/Lic in Area of Expertise

Preferred Qualifications

Certified Registered Central Services Technician (CRCST) preferred.
