Job summary

Torrance Memorial is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician I to support the operating room and other departments. The role involves decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instrumentation, and cleaning of equipment for patient use on the floors.

You will operate washer/disinfectors, wrap and contend instrument sets, and help verify accuracy and condition of trays. The position requires adherence to safety policies and ongoing certification maintenance.

Qualifications

• Must obtain CRCST within 24 months from hire date.
• Experience with decontamination, sterilization and instrument wrapping preferred.
• Knowledge of sterilization records and regulatory standards (CDPH, Joint Commission) desired.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, assemble and sterilize instrumentation for patient use.
• Operate washer/disinfectors and sterilizers and monitor equipment function.
• Assemble operating room case carts and package linen as needed.
• Maintain sterilization records and documentation.
• Adhere to PPE and safety protocols at all times.
