Job summary

Cool Springs Surgery Center in Franklin, TN is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to prepare and sterilize surgical instruments per AAMI standards.

You will maintain inventory, order supplies, test sterilizers, and keep accurate logs while ensuring aseptic technique and instrument integrity for the OR schedule.

The role requires a high school diploma, Certified Sterile Processing certificate, BCLS, and hands-on instrument handling experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Sterile Processing Technician certificate required.
• Current Basic Life Support certification.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization principles.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to speak effectively before groups; additional languages preferred.

Responsibilities

• Care and preparation of surgical instruments per AAMI standards.
• Maintain inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Test sterilizers and maintain sterilization logs.
• Turnover of OR rooms between cases and assist as needed.
• Ensure aseptic techniques and proper instrument handling.
