Responsibilities

• Operates department machinery and promptly reports issues.
• Performs manual and/or automated decontamination of instruments.
• Inspects instruments to ensure cleanliness and proper functionality.
• Assembles instruments into containers according to count sheets.
• Packages instruments according to manufacturer’s instructions.
• Performs sterilization and verifies adequacy of the sterilization process.
• Maintains documentation of sterilization processes.
• Stores sterile containers in identified location.
• Assembles case carts and delivers to the OR.
• Participates in the department’s weekday surge plan and weekend call.
• Assists other team members as needed.
• Follows policies/procedures to prevent spreading contaminants/diseases.
