Job summary

MetroHealth is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, prepare, and sterilize a wide range of surgical instruments, including specialty sets, ensuring accuracy and readiness for the operating rooms. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency.
• Two years experience in a Central Service Department, including one year experience in surgical instrument set assembly.
• Completion of a surgical technician program.
• Current certification - CBSPD or IAHCSMM or obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Good communication skills and phone etiquette.
• Knowledgeable in medical terminology.
• Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminate, prepare, package, sterilize and store surgical instrumentation.
• Liaise with hospital staff, especially OR and labor/delivery, regarding care and use of instruments.
• Uphold the mission, vision, values and customer service standards.
