Qualifications

• HS diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years experience.
• 1 year experience required and 2 years preferred.
• Previous experience as a sterile technician in another hospital area such as materials management or GI lab.

Responsibilities

• Reprocesses instruments using high level disinfection or sterilization techniques.
• Maintains an adequate supply of sterile and non-sterile supplies for the department.
• Maintains an adequate inventory of surgical instruments.
• Performs daily biological and chemical testing, changes graphs and tapes and maintains records on all sterilizers.
• Performs secretary/clerical functions.
• Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficiency of operations.
