Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech II to clean, wrap, sterilize, store and distribute equipment, supplies and instruments used in patient care. You will also provide orientation and training to Sterile Processing staff and utilize advanced knowledge to support daily operations in line with hospital policies.

The role requires CRCST/CSPDT/CFER NBSTSA certification or Certified Surgical Technologist status, 18 CE credits annually, and demonstrated ability to

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CRCST/CSPDT/CFER national certification or Certified Surgical Technologist NBSTSA required.
• 18 CE credits annually focusing on information and advancement related to the CS field.
• Advanced knowledge to function as Tech II.
• Ability to serve as preceptor for Sterile Processing.
• Perioperative Services Preceptor class and/or 4 precepting eLMS modules required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Knowledge of Endo instrumentation function and maintenance preferred.
• Some relevant experience in a healthcare environment.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies and instruments.
• Provides orientation and training to Sterile Processing staff.
• Utilizes advanced knowledge to facilitate daily functions in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, work instructions and guidelines.
