Job summary

Indiana University Health System is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech II responsible for cleaning, wrapping, sterilizing, storing and distributing equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes used in patient care. The role includes orientation and training of Sterile Processing staff, and applying advanced knowledge to daily operations in line with hospital policies.

The candidate should hold a CRCST/CSPDT/CFER credential or NBSTSA CST, have basic computer skills, and ideally possess

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Requires CRCST/CSPDT/CFER national certification or Certified Surgical Technologist.
• Requires 18 CE credits annually focused on CS field (technical).
• Demonstrates advanced knowledge to function as a Tech II.
• May serve as a Sterile Processing preceptor.
• Complete Preceptor training/eLMS modules or facility training.
• Basic computer skills.
• Knowledge of Endo instrumentation preferred.
• Some healthcare experience required.

Responsibilities

• Cleans, wraps, sterilizes, stores and distributes equipment, supplies, instruments and endoscopes used in patient care.
• Provides orientation and training to the Sterile Processing Staff.
• Utilizes advanced knowledge and skills to facilitate daily functions of the area in accordance with hospital and departmental policies, work instructions and guidelines.
