Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in the United States is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician. You will decontaminate, clean, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments, and prepare case carts in accordance with guidelines. Ensure all sets meet manufacturer recommendations and department protocol.

You will operate sterilizers and reprocessors, manage inventory, answer calls, and support isolation and crash-cart readiness while maintaining compliance with CDC, OSHA and JC guidelines.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of instrument processing techniques including decontamination, assembly and sterilization.
• Familiar with sterilization methods, packaging and infection-control practices.
• Ability to distinguish colors and read procedure instructions.

Responsibilities

• Fill orders from requesting departments and prepare OR case carts.
• Disassemble, clean, assemble and sterilize instruments per manufacturer guidelines.
• Operate steam/plasma sterilizers and endoscope reprocessors; document sterilizer records.
• Inspect sterile packages and maintain inventory; respond to department needs.
• Provide customer service and support in a collaborative environment.
