Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health in Texas is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician 2 to perform cleaning, sterilizing, processing and distributing patient equipment, and to mentor Sterile Processing Technician 1 staff.

You will organize rooms, manage inventory of instruments and supplies, follow safety and infection control guidelines, and share skills through in-service trainings with the team.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with instrument sterilization techniques and terminology.
• Experience with cleaning and disinfecting medical instruments.
• Ability to follow safety and infection control guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and arrange rooms with instruments, equipment, trays and supplies based on department needs.
• Clean instruments and equipment using approved detergents; operate sterilization equipment per guidelines.
• Efficiently manage inventory by ordering, replenishing, and distributing instruments and reusable medical equipment.
• Follow strict safety, environmental and infection control rules to uphold patient care and office standards.
• Share skills with your team; provide in-service training and mentor entry-level Sterile Processing staff.
