Job summary

UCLA Outpatient Clinics is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech II under the Sterile Processing group in the main operating rooms. You will process surgical instrumentation in decontamination, assemble and sterilize instrument trays to support continuous operation of all surgical suites.

The role requires at least 6 months of Sterile Processing experience; candidates with less experience may qualify as Tech I.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of Sterile Processing experience required for Sterile Processing Tech II; Tech I may be considered for less experience.

• Operate steam and H2O2 sterilizers, sonic equipment, washers, heat sealers and dumb waiter.
• Store, date and rotate supplies according to TJC and CMS guidelines.

Overview

Under the general direction of the Sterile Processing Tech Manager and the Management Services Officers (MSO), serve as an instrument technician within the Surgical Supply division of the main operating rooms. Ability to process surgical instrumentation in a decontamination setting and assembly and sterilization of instrument trays, which are necessary to provide continuous service for all surgical procedure rooms.

Qualifications

• To qualify as a Sterile Processing Tech II, a minimum of 6 months of Sterile Processing experience is required. Candidates with less than 6 months of experience will be hired as a Sterile Processing Tech I.
