Job summary

San Joaquin County is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician II to join the department and support decontamination, sterilization, and inventory functions. The role requires a training program in sterile processing or medical instrument technology, with at least one year of experience equivalent to Sterile Processing Technician I in county service.

Certification may substitute for education. The position offers full-time employment with a salary range of about $4,012.81 to $4,877.60 per month,

Qualifications

One year experience equivalent to a Sterile Processing Technician I in San Joaquin County service.
Completion of a training program as a medical instrument technician or sterile processing technician.
Certification in sterile processing techniques may substitute for the required education.

Responsibilities

Receives and sorts surgical equipment for decontamination and reprocessing; operates washers and tests equipment.
Inspects trays and equipment from decontamination; operates steam and gas sterilizers; checks sterilization results and rotates stock.
Cleans and disinfects surgical case carts and patient care equipment; maintains sanitary work areas.
Prepares, restocks, and stag es case carts for surgery; distributes supplies and equipment to units.
Maintains computerized inventory system and coordinates inventory control.
Liaises with health care providers to arrange equipment loan and transport; manages equipment lists.
