Job summary

Sharp HealthCare is seeking a Sterile Processing Department Technician II to handle processing and distribution of instruments and medical equipment used in inpatient care areas and to input patient charges.

The role requires a HS diploma, 2 years hospital SPD or surgical tech experience, proficiency with assembling complex instrumentation, and CSPDT/CST/CRCST certifications. Eligible for SEIU-affiliated CBA; weekend rotation and on-call considerations apply.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma or Equivalent.
• 2 years experience in a Hospital/Acute Care Surgical setting as SPD tech or Surgical Tech.
• Proficient in assembling large complex instrumentation (spine, open heart, robotic).
• CSPDT or CST or CRCST certification REQUIRED.

Responsibilities

• Process and distribute instruments and medical equipment for in-patient care.
• Input patient charges related to sterile processing activities.
• Maintain safe, clean work environment and infection control.
• Document sterilization loads and biological tests to verify efficacy.
• Operate SPD equipment (steam, gas plasma, washers, ultrasonic cleaners, sealers).
• Receive, stock, rotate and deliver supplies; train new staff as needed.
• Support customer service; track training and mandatory hospital education.
