Job summary

Danbury Hospital is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech 1 to support the hospital’s SPD with decontamination, sterilization and instrument assembly. The role requires a high school diploma and CSPT certification within 2 years of hire, with at least one year of healthcare or processing experience preferred.

You will work under supervision to ensure proper processing of sterile instruments, maintain compliance with safety standards, and support inventory and case cart operations in a busy hospital

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• CSPT certification within 2 years of hire.
• Minimum 1 year of healthcare or sterile processing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prioritizes, cleans and decontaminates surgical/medical devices under supervision.
• Assembles instrument sets and uses instrument management software.
• Performs sterilization, records parameters and monitors results.
• Maintains PPE and adheres to safety and infection control guidelines.
• Performs inventory control and case cart assembly, supports storage operations.
• Reports discrepancies or damaged instruments to supervisor promptly.
• Follows AAMI standards for sterilization and keeps knowledge up to date.
