Job summary

Hartford Hospital, part of Hartford HealthCare, is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to support decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, and sterilization. You will prepare case carts and ensure high quality sterile products for the OR and peri-operative services.

Requires High School Diploma or equivalent and current certification (CBSPD or CRCST). One year of Sterile Processing experience preferred. Join a team dedicated to patient-centered care and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Maintain knowledge of instrumentation and equipment and support peri-operative services with appropriate instrumentation.
• Ability to work independently in the absence of the Shift Lead.

JOB SUMMARY

Performs a variety of processing duties including: decontamination, instrument assembly, packaging, sterilization, and case cart assembly. Fulfills all processing and documentation requirements to ensure efficient distribution of high quality sterile products that meet customer expectations. Maintains a thorough knowledge of instrumentation, equipment, utilization, and sterile processing. Works in collaboration with peri-operative services to provide appropriate surgical instrumentation. Ability to work independently in the absence of the Shift Lead.

Minimum Requirements

Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent experience

Licensure, Certification, Registration

• Current "Sterile Processing Distribution Technician Certification" from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc. (CBSPD) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) from IAHCSMM required.

Preferred Requirements

Experience

• One (1) year experience in Sterile Processing Services preferred.
