Job summary

Shriners Children’s is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to decontaminate, sterilize, and stock supplies for the OR teams in a busy pediatric hospital setting. You will work with aseptic technique and support the CS and OR areas across our facilities.

HS diploma or GED is required; CSPDT and CRCST certifications are preferred, along with 1+ year of hospital experience. The role offers competitive hourly pay and comprehensive benefits across Shriners Children’s locations.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1+ year of hospital experience.
• Preferred CSPDT certification.
• Preferred CRCST certification.

Responsibilities

• Decontaminates, cleans, assembles, requisitions, stores, and sterilizes supplies, instruments sets, and trays according to policy and procedure while using aseptic technique.
• Works closely with OR personnel and is responsible for the OR case carts and maintaining the OR / CS supply room and supporting other Hospital departments with their sterilization needs.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge of the principles of asepsis, infection control and standard precautions.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge and principles of sterilization.
• Responsible for ordering and maintaining inventory and supplies.
• Serves as liaison between the OR and CS, providing supplies, instruments and case carts.
