Responsibilities

• Follows manufacturer instructions and departmental procedures to ensure proper cleaning, decontamination, and preparation of surgical instruments and patient care equipment.
• Collaborates with interdepartmental staff to prioritize workload, meeting both daily schedules and urgent surgical needs.
• Locates, collects, and prepares instruments for pickup or delivery, including packaging for offsite locations as needed.
• Maintains and operates decontamination and sterilization equipment in accordance with organizational, regulatory, and safety standards.
• Monitors sterilization indicators and maintains accurate records for quality assurance and compliance.
