Job summary

Trinity Health is seeking a Sterile Processing Tech I to decontaminate, assemble, package and sterilize surgical instruments, supporting efficient case flow and infection-control practices. You will handle endoscopes, maintain inventories, and uphold safety standards in a hospital environment.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of a sterile processing program, and a commitment to obtain certification within 18 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Graduate of a sterile processing program.
• One year of general work experience.
• Agreement to obtain certification in sterile processing within 18 months of hire through CBSPD or HSPA.

Responsibilities

• Identifies and decontaminates instruments using washer/decontaminator equipment and proper hand-washing.
• Assembles instruments ensuring cleanliness and function.
• Prepares instruments for sterilization using packaging and wrapping techniques.
• Sterilizes instruments by loading carts and operating steam and low-temperature sterilizers.
• Maintains instrument flow and supports inventory and case cart setup.
• Maintains GI unit environment, endoscopic equipment, and supplies.
