Job summary

Indiana University Health (IU Health) is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to clean, wrap, sterilize, store and distribute equipment used in patient care. The role supports operating room readiness and patient safety in a fast-paced hospital setting.

The position requires a high school diploma, progression toward certification, and ongoing CE credits; familiarity with aseptic techniques and medical terminology is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Coursework toward certification within 2 years of hire is required; certification is not required at hire.
• Requires 12 CE credits annually focusing on information and advancement related to the CS field and be of a technical nature.
• Orientation specific to SPD must be completed.
• Basic computer skills are required.
• Some experience in basic aseptic techniques, medical terminology or a healthcare environment is preferred.
