Job summary

Universal Health Services is seeking a Sterile Processing Technician to manage the full reprocessing cycle for surgical instruments. The role involves decontamination, disinfection, and sterilization, along with operating equipment and maintaining documentation.

You will assemble and test complex instruments, prepare case carts, and assist with instrument rounds and supply inventory. Mentoring of newer staff and adherence to quality and safety standards are key components of the job.

Qualifications

• Twelve months minimum in Sterile Processing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel, Word).
• Must have manual dexterity to assemble and disassemble complex instrumentation.
• Proficient in spoken and written English due to technical nature.

Responsibilities

• Manages reprocessing cycle for surgical instrumentation: disassembly, decontamination, disinfection, inspection, testing, assembly, packaging, labeling, and sterilization.
• Operates ultrasonic cleaners, washers, sterilizers and related equipment; maintains equipment and documentation.
• Prepares case carts by picking supplies and instruments; supports inventory management and rounds.
• Mentors and coaches new Sterile Processing Technicians and upholds quality, safety, and customer service standards.
