The role focuses on preparation, testing, and maintenance of surgical instruments per AAMI standards, with close collaboration with OR staff and vendor reps for loaner trays.

The incumbent will perform daily sterilizer testing, maintain logs, and support inventory control across instrument, decontamination, and sterile supply areas.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Certified Sterile Processing Certificate required.
• Knowledge of aseptic technique and sterilization principles.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and manuals.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments according to standards.
• Test sterilizers and maintain sterilization logs.
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment in instrument and decontamination rooms.
• Assist in loaner tray requests and instrument handling for the OR.
• Document procedures and ensure aseptic technique is followed.
