Job summary

Northern Nevada Medical Center in Sparks, NV is hiring a full-time Sterile Processing Tech for 40 hours per week with an afternoon/evening schedule. The role involves decontamination, cleaning, processing and sterilization of instruments and equipment used across Surgical Services.

You will reprocess instrument management, ensure proper packaging and sterilization, and participate in performance improvement activities within the department.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of formal training in field preferred.
• Certified within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Reprocessing cycle of instrument management including decontamination, assembly, preparation and packaging for sterilization, sterilization, and storage.
• Inspection and correct assembly of surgical instruments including selection of packaging, integrators and BI’s.
• Correct sterilization/high level disinfection of instruments including selection of sterilization or high level disinfection method.
• Care of instruments after sterilization/high level disinfection including interpretation of results and storage.
